My best tips for those of you who feel your donkey kicks/kickbacks in your lower back more than your legs/glutes, try this 👆 Put a bench and rest your upper body on it during the full movement. Don't let your hips lose touch with the bench. I swear I feel nothing at all in my lower back when I use this set up 🙌 also a little tips on how you can use your resistance band to keep the smith hook from locking during the exercise. And if you are lucky enough to not get injured, well you’re just wasting so much time with useless reps!⠀ -⠀ Sometimes it's hard to see if you’re cheating reps. That's where the mirrors or taking videos and watching them back can help. ⠀ My training partner and I are brutally honest with each other and disregard the rep if it was a cheated rep! ⠀ Sometimes it’s sheer exhaustion, which is partly our aim, but we should never sacrifice form. Welp today I was a complete shitshow. I got off shift later than expected last night and went to bed around 3am and slept far later than I have in years, woke up 45 minutes before needing to be at hospital for a lecture (which is 30mins away), raced my a$$ to the hospital and realized my gas tank had gone on E last night driving home, somehow made it with 9 minutes to run .75 a mile to the lecture place, then the lecturer cancelled and I’m sitting in my own sweat in scrubs from 36 hours ago wondering what to do with myself before tonight’s night shift. The answer = go to school gym (closer than home) to workout , shower, study pediatrics, put scrubs back on and go back to hospital. For your booty efforts, this is a barbell backward lunge. Start low and work up. Be sure to keep weight back so knee is at 90 degree angle. Recently bumped up to 115# 3x12 and my rump is feeeelin it. Incline dumbbell press felt pretty good tonight. I did slight pauses at the bottom of every rep just to kill momentum. On the way up I contracted my chest muscles the whole for added tension and focus.

Been having such a good time training with these youth track boys. I love these kids man, they are always ready to work and smiling and cracking jokes despite all kinds of gnarly things they’ve been through. I look up to them in so many ways! Caso ele foque apenas na parte nutricional do processo (a dieta está permitindo ganho de peso, então ele assume que está obtendo êxito no seu objetivo que é ganhar massa muscular minimizando ganho de gordura), ele pode estar cometendo um erro de análise, pois a progressão na performance também é determinante para o ganho de massa muscular. Nesse caso, ele pode estar ganhando somente gordura corporal e o mínimo de massa muscular. Da mesma forma, digamos que o atleta queira perder gordura corporal, minimizando a perda de massa muscular, e ele esteja perdendo peso a cada semana. Olhar apenas esse indicador (ou seja, ter apenas uma visão pontual ou parcial de todo o processo), não garante que ele esteja obtendo êxito no seu objetivo. Para isso, ele deve olhar "o todo", analisando tanto a parte nutricional como o treinamento. Se a performance nesse período estiver mantendo ou até melhorando, bem provavelmente ele estará minimizando a perda de massa magra junto da perda de gordura. Mas se a performance começar a cair abruptamente, isso significa que um ajuste deve ser feito: ou nutricional ou no treinamento, para que volte ao caminho adequado ao objetivo. O processo de melhoria da composição corporal é bem complexo e envolve muitas variáveis. Enquanto se usar uma visão pontual/parcial para a tomada de decisão nesse sentido, haverá erros e mais erros, frustração, perda de tempo e dinheiro. É preciso uma visão gerencial do processo, uma visão sistêmica, para que os melhores ajustes sejam feitos, na hora certa e da melhor forma possível.

É muito comum, principalmente para iniciantes e até intermediários, a preocupação pontual com certas variáveis. Na verdade, isso não deixa de ser importante, porém é necessário ter a consciência de que geralmente tudo que envolva processo, qualquer que seja: treinamento, nutricional, melhoria da composição corporal, processo industrial, etc (ou seja, tudo que envolva entrada de recursos, transformação e saída de produtos ou resultados), a tomada de decisão deve ser feita baseada numa visão sistêmica ou do todo, não somente das partes. É óbvio que cada parte tem a sua devida importância, pode e deve ser considerada e analisada, até mesmo separadamente. Mas em processos, geralmente uma parte acaba influenciando a outra. Assim, a mudança em uma parte, mesmo que aparentemente insignificante (quando observada de forma pontual), pode acabar alterando todo o andamento do processo, ou seja, pode afetá-lo como um todo. Por exemplo, vamos supor que a pessoa esteja progredindo bem nos treinos a cada semana, mas que por algum motivo qualquer (pode ser uma noite mal dormida ou talvez um período de maior estresse no trabalho), ela acabe tendo um dia de treinamento ruim, com queda de performance. Se ela focar na visão pontual (essa única sessão de treino), ela pode tomar uma decisão que irá afetar todo o programa de treinamento, talvez de forma desnecessária. Ela pode, por exemplo, achar que a carga está alta demais e reduzir as próximas cargas planejadas, ou pode achar que o volume de treino está excessivo e reduzir da mesma forma. Ou até mesmo pode resolver fazer um deload (leia post sobre isso), que acaba não sendo má ideia do ponto de vista de recuperação, mas que talve não seja a melhor opção em termos de maximização de ganhos, pois poderia continuar a progressão da sobrecarga pelas próximas semanas, já que poderia ter sido apenas um dia atípico. Se nesse mesmo exemplo a pessoa enxergar a semana de treino como um todo e observar outros indicadores juntamente com a performance, ela poderá tomar uma decisão de forma mais adequada e condizente com a real situação do momento. (Talvez "autoregulando" o treinamento nesse dia especificamente, por meio da escala RPE/RIR).
