💥I almost fell for it...💥 The lie that my perfectionist tells me... 👉🏻”You’ve already failed the week, so you might as well wait until Monday”

I used to tell myself this often 🤦‍♀️I was a professional quitter. I always was stuck in the start. My best was never enough because someone else was always better. 
So what changed? 👉🏻I let others into my journey. 🛑You can have all the tools. All the knowledge. All the talent. But if you have a head full of negative...you will stay stuck even if you reach your goals. You will never feel enough... 👉🏻You gotta lose that emotional negative weight. 
How? Get surrounded by people who live by. Grace not perfection 💕. Irons sharpening Iron ⚔️ and sisters 👯 who lift one another up along the way.

It’s very hard to make progress when you’re constantly sick 🤕😩 It looks like the flu (again!), which means between colds and flus (and other health issues), I’ve been sick four times in the past two months alone. I am so ready for my body to fully recover and put in work. For now, I’ll work on showing it grace and give it the rest it’s asking for. 
The plan is to take all of next week off of the gym and just do stretching/walks (if I feel up to it!). The ten days I’ll take off will be the longest since I had my sweet baby in February. I know for sure it will be harder mentally for me to relax and focus on healing my body. BUT I know this is what it needs, and that I will be back stronger than ever ✨✨

Another program done and dusted!! Love this one so much, and finished off feeling strong and so happy. As December rushes towards us I’m feeling so proud of how I finished up 2017 and set the tone for 2018.

My first reaction when I saw this picture was UGH, look at my receding hairline!!! (postpartum hair loss at its finest) But, thanks to my girl @slgrijalva , I was quickly reminded at how far I have come the last 6 months.  I am proud of the strength I have rebuilt in my body post baby!  This machine is magical...it adjusts to wherever you are and whatever you need💙

I cannot explain to you how AMAZING a full night of sleep felt!

Let me tell you what count..
Every rep, every set and every workout I’ve finished. 
Every prep of those boring repetitive meals.
Every piece of chicken or lean ground meat I’ve ate instead of something I’ve craved. 
And you know what else counts?
30-15=15!
That’s the bodyfat percentage I’ve lost in a year.
I went from obese to fitness on the fat percentage chart and I am so proud of myself!
My hard work, my consistency, discipline, dedication and sacrifice payed of.
Instead of feeling sorry for myself I did what had to be done. I stfu and lifted!
I rebuild a body that was destroyed from the trauma of childbirth. I rehabilitated myself from not being able to walk to squatting almost double my own body weight. I built myself up one step at the time while being a mother to an infant! 
I cried, I screamed, I felt hopeless and I wanted to give up a million times. I hit plateaus, I injured myself, I fought postpartum depression and the immense grief of losing my brother. I went through it all! But I didn’t give up! I stood consistent because I knew it was just a battle with time, nothing else..

It seems as though nowadays my work week is less exhausting than my weekends! 😅 As a working mom, I try to make up for the guilt of not spending enough time with the kids during the week by over-compensating in the weekends, leaving me with practically zero me-time. 🙈 I’ve made a decision to change this starting next weekend! This momma will take a couple of hours every Saturday to herself and recharge her batteries! We all have people who depend on us but if you don’t look after yourself, you won’t be able to give enough to those who need u! 🤗 Happy Saturday! 😘❤️

Most often than not we only post what we want you to see, like the first picture. With the right angles I look small and lean, but swipe right, my waist looks square, I still have about 10lbs of pregnancy weight and I have lots of loose skin and a serious dark like that refuses to go away 😂

Time on embarrass myself on IG 😬. FYI it’s totally ok to fail. I do it all the time. Just watch this video 🤣. I laugh it off and still did my jumps. It’s going to happen. But you just shake it off and keep going. I’m sure someone saw me do this, maybe they laughed. Oh well! Better to try and fail that never actually do anything ☺️.

I love this new program I’m doing. It’s rotating speed and strength/core for 6 days. I’m a day behind because yesterday was a long day and I just wanted to unwind with my family last night! 
I love the challenge of pushing myself each week to beat my score from the previous week. Last week my score was 489 and this week 527 👊 
People ask me all the time how I stay motivated and this is how. I compete with myself. I want to increase the amount of weight I lift, I want to increase my speed, I want to buy those size 4 jeans, I want to see the number on the scale decline! What motivates you?

I love this new program I’m doing. It’s rotating speed and strength/core for 6 days. I’m a day behind because yesterday was a long day and I just wanted to unwind with my family last night! I love the challenge of pushing myself each week to beat my score from the previous week. Last week my score was 489 and this week 527 👊 People ask me all the time how I stay motivated and this is how. I compete with myself. I want to increase the amount of weight I lift, I want to increase my speed, I want to buy those size 4 jeans, I want to see the number on the scale decline! What motivates you?

At some point, you gotta stop caring about other people’s opinions. I stopped making myself smaller than I wanted to be because I knew that only I am in control of my dreams and goals. You will always run the risk of people judging you for whatever reason. I still have people thinking my physical results are fake, that this business is a scam, and I still have people doubting my intention and purpose. But guess what? I’m done letting that hold me back. What I do matters, my purpose is important, and it’s providing the kind of freedom and happiness I couldn’t even DREAM about because I thought it didn’t exist. Today is World Prematurity Day and I’m looking at it as another reason to celebrate the struggles we went through to get here. After being delivered at just 31 weeks, these girls continue to amaze me. They’re little fighters. .

I never imagined things turning out the way they did, but I think anyone can say that of their situation. Looking back, I am thankful for the struggles. It was a hard time and I don’t miss it. I don’t miss the constant beeping and cords. Not being able to walk more than a couple feet while holding them. Having to say bye each time. Being told they would be coming home only to find out they wouldn’t. Doctors who wouldn’t listen to us and some nurses that could have approached things with more empathy. .

But then there was our favorite nurse who helped us get pictures with the girls we will cherish forever. And the doctor who fought and advocated for us and is the reason the girls finally came home when they did. There’s the other NICU parents we got to meet and share the journey with. And all of the prayers and support we received along our journey. I will never forget that time and I will never forget the feeling of saying goodnight to my babies through my phone screen. Fifty days in the NICU was long enough. .

To the mama sitting in the NICU. You will get through it. If it’s a bad day with not so great news, I’m praying for you. If it’s a good day with some better news, I am praying for you. Life in the NICU is no joke and I have such an appreciation for anyone having to go through it. Premature babies and their parents will forever be on my prayer list 💕

#caylascoats 10K this morning, and what a great race it was! This is a small one and only in its second year, but the cause is very touching and worthy. Cayla was a drowning victim at only 2 years old, so her family set out to ensure “their story doesn’t become your story” by speaking out about the importance of water safety and working to provide life jackets in public water areas. I ran with a chip with Cayla’s name on it (there were also chips with other lost children’s names), and I focused on her and my own boys when the race started to challenge me. It was a very humbling experience because I realize no pain that running can bring me can compare to that of losing a child. I ran a smart race, as most everyone took off like bats out of hell, negative splitting the [short] course and took first of two in my age group 😂 It was a small race, but it still felt good to perform well for where I am in this postpartum journey. The miles came in at [8:50, 8:44, 8:21, 8:25, 8:15, 8:02]. I did have to dig the second half to not only maintain but to press on, and my mantra the whole race was “I get stronger.” Not sure where it came from, but I like it.

I love that at 9 o’clock at night, I can hop in my team page and in my monthly Bootcamp and ask if anyone wants to be my accountability workout partner in the morning and I ALWAYS have ladies who commit.

So myself and 4 other ladies got up early this morning and virtually worked out together 🏋🏼‍♀️ Honestly, if it wasn’t knowing they were waiting for me to show up, I would have procrastinated this workout until this afternoon. 
Now it’s 9 am, workout is done, breakfast is cookin’ and I am ready to start my weekend 👊🏼 (and hopefully have a baby 🤣) 🤞🏼

The last several days have been less focused on work and more on being fully present with Karly. It can be difficult for me to put tasks off, because I’ve lived my life thinking that if I’m not achieving, I’m failing.

But I’m learning to lean into the ebb and flow of life. I’m learning that maybe there isn’t a perfect work/life balance and it’s more about surrendering to the natural flow of life’s cycles. Some weeks are more work focused, some more fun focused, and others more family focused. And I’m learning to let go of resistance and feel free no matter what phase I’m in.

So after one week of exercise (4 workouts and a bit of walking everyday) and clean eating, I’m down 1.5kgs, half an inch on my waist and 1.25 inches on my hips. My thighs are just as thicc, but that’s cool 🍗

A few days from 5 months #postpartum & I'm finally feeling more like myself in my workouts and in my body. Not how I look but how I feel.
This took work, this took time and this took a lot of me being honest with what I could do and what a wanted to do through pregnancy and postpartum.
A lot of times in life we tell ourselves it's too late for us or we can't do it when we've really just expected too much too fast. Know what you need to do, give yourself time and stick with it! #YouGotThis

Today! Pregnant people are not sick or injured but there are ways for them to move more optimally for their ever changing body. Like did you know if a mama is doing planks and experiences conning in the belly she should not be doing that exercise because its putting too much pressure on the abdominals and her core is not strong enough, what can she do instead?? This is wonderful sneak peak into our 85hr prenatal yoga teacher training thats happening in January. Save $400 if you register by 11/24

I enjoy this DB sequence of snatch-windmill-squat, keeping the same base of support while changing the position of the load. Fast and explosive followed by slow and controlled. Reaching high while squatting low. Give it a shot ONCE you have mastered each component.

It’s always a struggle for me to get to the gym on Saturday, especially when my crazy busy husband actually doesn’t have a game 🏀, but I made a promise to myself and I’m keeping it. Plus, I always feel like a badass on leg day. As anyone who’s worked out with me in the virtual gym can attest, John LOVES to workout too! Today we got our sweat 💦 on while baby Benjamin napped. It was hilarious (snippets posted in my stories) to hear John coaching me, repeating everything @shaunt said. Correcting form, counting reps...it was actually pretty awesome. 😂

Abs!! I took Pilates classes shortly after I had kids to try and get that core back where it used to be. These are some best ab exercises I’ve used and still incorporate them in my routine all the time.
I’m thinking of getting back into taking a full 60 min Pilates class to try and really focus on the abs one day out of the week. I am trying to hard to target abs, but I find I leave them for end of my workout and really don’t crush it like I should. Try these out and let me know what you think

3️⃣ Pilates 100 series

5️⃣toe taps
6️⃣double leg stretch

Breathing is keep with abs and can take months to figure out. Practice makes perfect. Really makes sure you are slow and controlled and you envision your belly button being pulled to floor when you are on back.
