So today’s workout involved a toddler & trampoline and lots of jumping ! Workouts don’t have to be in a gym & getting the kids involved makes it so much more fun ! This was us at  #gymtots today. 
I love this place it’s a huge gymnasium a little different to normal playgroups, It’s in the main sports hall in park road gym, they have trampolines, little balance beams, a mini bouncy castle, little slides and they put ride ons, hula hoops and balls out. It’s all soft bouncy floor in there too so the little ones can run around.

Another 0.5lb off last night... seems to be a pattern with my weight loss - one good week/one small week. I’m happy as long as it keeps coming off 😄

How many times do these 3 summary’s of life pop into that 🤯 of yours!? “I could have done that, but I was so worried what my friends would think of me” “I might have been good at that if I was more experienced”
“I should have given that a go, but it’s too late now”

These were just a few that constantly ran through my head over 4 years ago! And I realised that I was sick of living an ‘average’ life and just exisiting and being all over the place with what I actually wanted! ✨Ever had the urge to just try something different!? I’m not here to convince you into doing something more or different in your life, but I’m here to just ask when was the last time you did something for yourself!? 🤔

Oh how I love the warmer months! You can’t go wrong with blushing ripe tomatoes, fresh herbs from the garden and that beautiful halloumi. .

RECIPE: Heirloom Tomato, Halloumi and Herb salad - serves 2 - 3
INGREDIENTS:
3 Heirloom tomatoes 
Handful of cherry tomatoes - some cut in half some whole. 
Halloumi cheese 250g - slice into 1 cm pieces (Pitta's is the brand I use)
1/2 Lemon
1 Handful of basil - torn
1 Handful of mint - torn
3 sprigs of dried oregano
Dressing:
4 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons Red wine vinegar
Salt and pepper

METHOD:
Chop tomatoes into rough chunks. Add basil, mint, oregano and toss.
Mix together the olive oil and red wine vinegar with salt and pepper and combine. 
Lightly oil a fry pan on medium heat and fry Halloumi slices until golden brown. Squeeze half a lemon over Halloumi whilst cooking. Serve Halloumi straight away.

Taking a minute to say thank you so much guys for all the messages in the last post 🙏🏼😭 You guys are amazing 💖
We couldn’t be happier, so much going on that I ended up not posting the latest updates. So here we go:

🏋🏻‍♀️ Training: Still 6 times a week. I decreased some weights and the only major change was abs… I stopped doing crunches or any twist movement after the first trimester as it can cause diastasis recti, so all my abs workout are now modified.

🍽 Diet: Still meal prepping and eating healthy 90% of the time. I’m eating more carbs (good carbs) such as brown rice and fruits, and got a bit of aversion to chicken now 😞so been replacing with turkey and tempeh but that aside all remains the same and no cravings (apart from the normal ones that I always had anyway!) 🍩 🍕 🍔 😋 ---
🤰🏽 Pregnancy Symptoms: None. I found that very weird because I didn’t even know it was possible and in the beginning I was googling a lot as I thought there was something wrong but nope, it’s all good. Never had any morning sickness, no cravings, no mood swings, no nothing. I do get quite tired sometimes in the afternoon though, but that’s it. So far, so good. Hope it continues like this 😉

What I have found from talking to other mums is that so many of us feel inadequate with what we pack for school lunches. This is so crazy. I know I also feel this way at times even though friends tell me how great my lunches look. We are all so hard on ourselves.  I find it useful to make a list of three or four lunch options such as hummus sandwich on good quality bread, wholemeal pasta with lentils and peas, wraps with grated carrot and avocado, good quality store bought falafels, a “sweet healthy” muffin, fruit, raw vegetable and any other additions you fancy. There are many recipes available on line for healthy muffin or slices  using wholemeal or buckwheat flour and natural sweeteners.  Once you have your list just rotate what days you serve what. Spend an hour or so on the weekend shopping and prepping for lunches and pre baking any muffins to store in the freezer. Red lentils are a quick nutritious meal option. You can pretty much add any vegetables and spices you like.  Served with brown rice makes it a nutritious and filling meal option.  Don’t forget the importance of pre soaking your legumes before cooking. I added soaked red lentils to sautéed garlic, leek, mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, kale and parsley along with herbs including cinnamon, cumin and turmeric. Finished with a good squeeze of lemon juice and drizzle of tahini. This is just too exciting, as you’ll see in my stories... so I’m currently following the 5:2 ‘diet’ (I really don’t like that word so tend to just say the 5:2), which isn’t just good for steady weight loss but has so many other health benefits too. I did think I’d struggle, my main concern being more about my state of mind and/ or mood on the fasting days above anything else. I’m not so much of an emotional eater, although I believe we all have it in us at times, but I do get hangry and so was concerned about feeling low. But to my surprise I seem to cope ok which I think is because I feel in control. The anticipation of being able to eat normally the following day is a huge motivator too if course 😉. I’m still mindful, but it’s amazing how much you begin to appreciate food and/ or learn your boundaries. So this Nakd bar has totally become my treat today, whereas it could be easy to go for a chocolate bar or biscuits as a treat. As always, it’s all in the mindset, and finding healthy food you look forward to can really help. What’s your favourite healthy treat? .

This is just too exciting, as you’ll see in my stories... so I’m currently following the 5:2 ‘diet’ (I really don’t like that word so tend to just say the 5:2), which isn’t just good for steady weight loss but has so many other health benefits too. I did think I’d struggle, my main concern being more about my state of mind and/ or mood on the fasting days above anything else. I’m not so much of an emotional eater, although I believe we all have it in us at times, but I do get hangry and so was concerned about feeling low. But to my surprise I seem to cope ok which I think is because I feel in control. The anticipation of being able to eat normally the following day is a huge motivator too if course 😉. I’m still mindful, but it’s amazing how much you begin to appreciate food and/ or learn your boundaries. So this Nakd bar has totally become my treat today, whereas it could be easy to go for a chocolate bar or biscuits as a treat. Super sad that kiwi 🥝 season has finished. My boys LOVE kiwi fruit. Thankfully, strawberries are in season. 🍓 Please support our Aussie farmers and get a punnet. My heart breaks for the loss they will endure after all the media carry on. Just chop them into tiny pieces 👌🏻 Super cheap and super sweet! Strawberries have tones of vitamin C, fibre and folate for all the pregnant mamas out there! Remember that buying your fruit and veg when in season is going to be the freshest and most nutrient dense option 👌🏻 It’s generally best to avoid anything imported 🙌🏻 📸 @foodbites⠀

➡️ Coconut yogurt bowl with protein powder, berries, coconut shreds, and peanut butter.
➡️ Greek yoghurt, protein powder and almond, brazil, cashew spread.
➡️ 2 Poached eggs of sourdough or Herman Brott bread with 1/2 Avo and dukkah.
➡️ Oats with blueberries/strawberries protein powder and sugar free queens maple syrup.
➡️ 3 eggwhite + 1 whole egg omelette with 150g vege of choice and 1/2 Avo.

Espinacas, Rúcula, Kale, Lechugas, Berros, Perejil y muchas otras hojas son irremplazables en nuestra dieta, Nos proporcionan vitaminas y minerales fundamentales! ~ 🥗 ~
La mayoría de las hojas las consumimos crudas de esta forma optimizamos la ingesta de CLOROFILA previniendo la tan temida anemia además de ser una carga importante de  antioxidantes. 
Como madre y arquitecta de la salud de mis enanas se lo importante que es para ellas ingerir estos alimentos  y por esto siempre han estado presentes en las cenas o meriendas. 
A pesar de no ser conejo😂, cómo muchos dicen. 
Se el rol que juegan en nuestra dieta y que incluso podemos formar proteínas a partir de alimentos como estos. 
Si bien es cierto, no somos herbívoros si no más bien frugivoros, alcanzar un equilibrio depende de la variedad de colores y sabores  que incluimos en nuestra dieta😉👌

Re-sharing my Cacao, Cranberry & Cashew Cookies tonight My CCCC's for short perhaps? 🤔😂 They are made with a base of buckwheat flour so are naturally gluten-free without using flours with gums or preservatives 🌱🍃 I always make sure to use wholefood ingredients as much as possible, there is a time and place for processed flours of course but I would rather stick to the good stuff 🙌💕 I'll put the recipe in the comments for you all, I hope you love them as much as I do! 😘🥰

I have an attitude of gratitude and I reflect on the things I am grateful for daily. Yoghurt making the headlines today with warnings of its hidden sugar content. Few points from me: 🍓As the headline says 'even organic'- yes of course organic is not synonymous with healthy.
🍓Greek yoghurt is the lowest sugar closely followed by natural. It's the pure Greek ones that are higher in protein - the thick set ones will be around 10g per 100g so 17g protein for a 170g pot which is great (same as 2 eggs!)
🍓Greek style natural yog is not the same as Greek though (I know mind blowing!)
🍓All yoghurt contains lactose which is naturally occurring. (All apart from lactose free of course 🤣). The 'of which sugars' bit on the label won't distinguish this so you're looking for no added sugar and check the ingredients to see how much sugar has been added.
🍓Remember it's a serve of calcium and all of us, especially children need 3 serves a day. In my opinion up to 10g sugar is a good trade off to get the nutrient dairy matrix into my children. Haribo can't boast the same. Not more than 10g though cause that's getting silly.
🍓Adding fresh fruit is obviously great or fruit puree pouches work well too.
🍓Adding your own honey could well rank up the sugar depending on how energetically you drizzle. And some fancy raw sugar sh*t from The Amazon forest is still just sugar.

I cant actually take the credit for our dinner tonight. This was all Hubby as I was at the gym. Now my youngest is in full time school I’ve just joined a gym 😂So I’m starting my first session in 15mins and what better way to stay hydrated than with my NYRO water bottle! I may not have abs anymore but my gosh am I happy 🌞 .

I use to base my opinion of myself by the number on the scales or if my ab lines were showning. I use to get so down when I would eat off track and would end up binging on the weekends. To 'make up' for the binge, I would then restrict myself all week and the cycle would continue. .
.
These days, I eat whatever I want, when I want. I treat myself daily and no longer binge. I eat a wholefood based diet and really do live by the 80/20 rule. I believe that balance is key to feeling my best. I do not believe in diets. Our bodies need fuel to function optimally. We need good sources of carbs for energy and glycogen stores, we need healthy fats in our diet as they are an important structural compent of our cells and help with our brain function and we need protein from our diet, as protein provides a structural and functional role in every cell within the body. .

When we are depriving our bodies of the micronutrients it needs, it is unable to function at its full potential. As I study, I learn more and more everyday about the importance of good nutrition and fueling the body and what bad nutrition and deprivation can do, so when I don't see abs or the scales says a number I don't like, I do not get down anymore. I embrace it and know that I am eating good nutritional dense foods with a few treats here and there AND my mind and my body are both happy 🌟. .
