When you can fill up on a lot of volume for very few calories, you're making things much easier on yourself 😁 • 👉🏼 You can spice up the foods you're eating for A TON of calories with creamy dressings and dense sauces, OR... you can utilize seasonings and lighter condiments like mustard and even ketchup, and put the calorie emphasis on the meal, NOT the decorations 🎊 • 👋🏼 Chipotle's a personal favorite. In simple terms, consuming 1600 calories will have the same effect on an individual’s body composition, regardless of the calorie source. I’m using 1600 as a relative calorie example here, but the principle is the same for any calorie amount. - - The food on the left accumulates to 1600 calories. If that is your daily target for fat loss, you could repeat this meal daily and succeed - this is fact. However, the problem is that it’s just one meal. You will likely still have 2-3 addition meals in that day. Additional meals = additional calories. FYI the ingredients on the left are not particularly satiating and are probably not conducive to optimal health if eaten in heavy regularity. - - On the right - There is a lot more food here. In fact, it’s a full day of eating. 1600 calories deriving from varied nutrients and inclusive of smartly selected treats. Therefore it will probably keep you satiated all day, reducing the need for more calories. - - The long and short of it is, if you’re overweight or obese, you are eating too many calories for the amount you move. I would go further to estimate that consistent unaware consumption of calorie dense foods plays a pivotal role in creating a calorie surplus, simply due to the lack of value for calories consumed. - - Calorie dense foods such as takeaways/fast food are not inherently bad. PHYSIQUE UPDATE - 10 Weeks out from the @wbff_official 👙. - Hit my lowest weight during the week & skinfolds were down🕺🏼. - Training: As of the past week I am now doing double sessions so x2 weight training sessions & 4x stairmaster cardio sessions. - Strength: Has slightly decreased I feel but some days I feel super good in the gym (Hit 270kg leg press & 17.5kg DB Shoulder press last week which would be what I was doing during my bulk🕺🏼) that is one of my major goals is to not let the 'diet mentality' make me use lighter weight🙈 I still can't squat or deadlift for the rest of my prep in fear of my back giving out again and hip thrusts I'm sad to say have been fairly light😭 but getting good Glute engagement none the less! - Super motivated going into this week with the photoshoot this Friday🙈🙈Excited for it! It's a nice little mini goal in between🕺🏼 #mondaymotivation

In case you forgot how very possible this is 😉 • For real tho, when asked my opinion on specific diets, like intermittent fasting, keto, etc.—my genuine thinking is this: • 🤔 Why would I make fat loss any harder on myself than it needs to be? • You need to consume fewer calories than your body's maintenance requirement in order to lose weight. That's the necessary aspect... • You don't NEED to avoid carbs. You don't NEED to restrict your eating to a specific feeding window. You just need to be in a calorie deficit. • 💥 BONUS: You need to lift weights and consume a sufficient protein intake in order to preserve muscle, but even that's not technically required to just lose weight in general (you really should tho, just sayin 👀). • Anywho, you can absolutely fit in some less-than-ideal foods here and there within those guidelines 👍🏼 I actually do it all the time 😂 • If keto or IF or any other dietary restrictions help you make progress and are actually sustainable for you, then you do you my friend 👏🏼 Different things work for different people, so stick to whatever helps YOU. • But don't make getting in better shape any more difficult than it needs to be. Know these basics, stick to them, and don't fear flexibility in moderation. I baked my porridge for the first time and it was delicious. It takes longer though, about 20 minutes whereas heating it on a stove only takes a couple minutes. And I don’t know why the banana got a bit black. W7.D2 of Strength phase. VIDEOS 1&2 - Bench 1x3@77.5kg and 3x2@77.5kg (91% 1RM) - 1st and last sets shown. followed by VIDEO 3 - Strict OH Press 1x3@47.5kg and 2x2@47.5kg (90% 1RM) I was supposed to bench 3x3@77.5kg but I hit the rack on rep 2 on both my 2nd and 3rd sets and couldn't do the last rep. Took a photo of my setup and realised I'm quite twisted on the bench so I did an extra double focussing on setting up straightener ( VIDEO 2) and it didn't hit the rack. For those of you doing Keto and looking for a decent crust/dough recipe - fat head is super simple and delicious . I will say there’s generally lots of dairy used, which I try my best to avoid, so if you’re looking for something dairy free, this ain’t it . When you’re sleep deprived, your stress levels increase, your appetite increases, and it also affects your immune system. So you’re stressed, hungry, and get sick more often. ▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️ Make sure you’re getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep a night. It will help control your sugar cravings. You will feel more rested. You will have more energy. ▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️ Quite often, people tell me that they are tired all the time and I ask how much sleep they are getting? Most say 5-6 hours. Increase that to at least seven. ▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️ Research is also showing that people who get less than seven hours of sleep decrease their life expectancy. It’s Monday and I’m actually getting back on track! Are you? . One hell of a great weekend with Summer Smash. Still trying to work through all of the emotions I felt and memories that were made.... don’t really even know what to say right now. . Which is good since I actually still don’t have my voice back ahaha . But for now, focusing on gettin back into a good routine with training, nutrition and supplementation. . About the only thing I was able to keep consistent the last week was the supplement side of things with MicroFactor and FullMega. . Which consequently is the only reason I’m not sick right now. The first three years of Summer Smash I would wind up sick the following week. . Lack of sleep ... lack of food ... lack of nutrients... lots of beer ... lots of caffeine ... lots of stress on the body ... makes for a challenging combination for any body to over come. . 💥DUMBBELL FLOOR PRESS💥 . ⏳When it comes to lifting the name of the game should be longevity. If you can't even turn your steering wheel without shoulder pain then who cares how big you are or how much you used to lift. . 🤔If you've ever had shoulder issues, like impingement, you probably need to spend some time pressing from the floor. Why? . 📚 1.Pressing from the floor takes the lower body completely out of the equation and allows you to focus more on form and isolating your chest and triceps. . 2.This position is much safer for your shoulders because your range of motion is restricted compared to a bench. . 3. Being on the floor also helps prevent flaring of the elbows which is one of the main causes of shoulder pain from pressing. . Here's how to do it... ➡️Start with your feet flat on the ground. ➡️Set your upper back just like you normally would for a chest press - shoulder blades retracted and "in your back pockets", giving you a good base to press from. ➡️Slightly angle(pronate) the dumbbells as show in the video. This is key!! ➡️Keep your elbows slightly tucked being sure not to flare them out. ➡️Get a good contraction up top. ➡️Return to the starting position with a controlled tempo. . 💪🏻Perform 5 sets of 10 reps . ⚠️ If you are focusing more on shoulder health than chest/tricep development, use slow negatives - about 5 seconds on the way down. . Be smart about lifting and don't let anyone tell you that you have to just "train through the pain" 😭 . Have any questions? DEADLIFT 405 FAILED ATTEMPT... So for the final set of the final exercise(No.9) I went for a single same as last week but no cigar today..I gave it a 2nd attempt but came up short.. Its expected as Im cutting carbs even more, only 80 grams yesterday for a hi carb day n only getting in 40 grams today.. I don’t even know where to begin with this photo. It’s clear though that my body has changed in a number of ways. I’m definitely more leaner in my 1st photo in comparison to my last photo. In the beginning of my journey I wasn’t counting calories, keeping track of my food, heck I didn’t really have a fitness plan. I was just going to the gym daily and overdoing the cardio 🤷🏽‍♀️😂🙄. . . Hooked up with @getting_it_done_fitness I began to have more of an understanding when it came to numbers, weights, counting calories, carbs, macro, micro, correct fitness & meal plans.......stuff like that & I’m still learning. It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a dragon? My daughter flies her kite while I get my workout in before the clouds roll in and had us running for cover. I actually got the darn thing stuck in a tree while I was in a hurry and nose dived it. Sorry no blooper pics was trying not to get soaked before workout.
