Yeah, baby! I’m celebrating two pounds down today! I’m so excited to see the numbers on the scale coming down instead of going up as they have been since I was cleared of stage 4 cancer. I’ve gained about 15 pounds since then! I’ve been celebrating life a little too much I think! I know two pounds isn’t a lot of weight to lose but as Adam always says, “Little by little makes a little a lot”. I even lost weight through my stoma prolapsing when I wasn’t 100% and took time off from exercising! I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next week when I start working out again! I couldn’t be happier about the weight loss but the thing I’m most excited about is the WAY I lost it. I LOVE this nutrition program! I know it’s something I’m going to be able to keep up because I’m learning what works best for MY body. In the past I’ve mostly lost weight through fasting and cleanses. I’ve never really learned how to lose weight in a healthy and sustainable way. I’m a emotional eater, a late night binger, and a carb-aholic! I have seriously wondered where I could go for a meeting to help me with my addiction. I’ve never done well with counting calories, using portion containers, or cutting out foods groups. I could never do any other program long enough to establish a habit. I’ve never been a fan of “dieting” either. Diets begin and end. I’ve wanted balance and something that becomes a way of life. This is it! This is the program I’ve been waiting for!

I’ve been following a more mindful nutrition course for a couple months. I’ve also been reading up on the science behind the food we eat, how it affects our body, our blood sugar, and what foods fuel us vs causing a spike and crash. .

My green smoothie from this morning has kept me full for going on 5 hours!! That’s a big deal coming from a food addict & binger such as myself. 🤪 . 🌱Recipe🌱 . •7ish ice cubes. •1 cup unsweetened almond milk. •Chia & hemp seeds. •Vegan vanilla protein powder, I use Shakeology. •1-2Tbs of nut butter. •4 handfuls of spinach.

Questa sera ho cenato con una piadina con ricotta di bufala che non ho pubblicato perché non era bella da vedere 😅 e, dopo giorni chiusa in casa ad evitare contatti sociali per paura di mangiare (e tra l'altro sono stata in casa ad abbuffarmi tutto il tempo!!!), esco e mangio un gelato.

When you slap a lunch together in like minute...looks one of yucky but I assure you it was delicious and filling... Turkey breast, cheesestrings and avocado dipped in mayo mustard. The macros worked out perfect! 
While I was exploring different styles of eating I realized that my meals are so much smaller and less frequent on the ketogenic lifestyle than on flexible. I was so hungry and 1400 calories weren't enough to satiate myself for long. I love the way keto keeps me full without needing to stuff myself to the brim, only to be hungry again. Sure I miss carbs but I don't want to be a slave to food, like when I am eating carbs. 
I also have no self control on any other way of eating. If I eat some carbs I can't stop myself and I binge on everything!

Eating disorders are real. 🔥
You may look at someone on the outside and have no idea how they struggle on the inside. 
Body size, body type, job status, family life, home life - none of this can combat the triggers you feel to reaching for food for comfort. 
The recovery lies inside of you. Food is not the enemy - the reason you use food is. And no matter what we think, the food itself will never harm you as much as your eating disorder will. 
For me, food gave me a high that made me feel at peace. It was the one thing I could turn to and depend on that didn’t talk back, didn’t judge me, didn’t have any negative things to say - it just made me feel good. Made me escape from the anxiety and pain I felt inside. But ONLY in that moment. 😩

However in reality - we don’t need to emotionally eat, we need to emotionally HEAL. ☀️ If you struggle with an eating disorder of any kind, get yourself a journal. Write down your triggers and go beyond them. Not only what they are, but WHY you feel those feelings. 📓 
Learning your triggers is the first step to recovery. And we do recover. 💪🏻 And if you need some no-judgment accountability in your life from someone who has dealt with binge eating disorder first hand - I’m only a message away.

HOW TO RECOVER FROM A BINGE:⁣⁣⁣

•Most coaches will tell you after a binge to forget it and get back to your normal training/diet routine⁣⁣⁣

•However I find it to be quite a good approach in certain cases to reduce calorie intake 1-2 days after for a number of reasons⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
•Firstly as you have over consumed on a given day, you are likely to not feel the need to eat as much the next day⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
•I’m not talking about slashing 1000 calories from your diet however reducing 250-350 calories (probably from carbs) the next day is likely to be fairly easy for you, if you reduce too much (which is what I find most people feel inclined do) your likely to get caught in this binge-restrict cycle and your opening yourself up for a vicious cycle of going nowhere⁣⁣⁣. However a strategic reduction of calories for a couple of days is not going to do you any harm
⁣⁣⁣
•Another reason I suggest this is because in my experience people often feel a sense of guilt after a binge, especially if they have a poor relationship with food, and by reducing your energy consumption post-binge it can help psychologically as well as undoing all the damage from the binge initially (which FYI probably wasn’t even as bad as you think)⁣⁣⁣

•Id like to clarify, this is a strategy I’d use for SOME clients which would be based on what I felt works best for them individually, if you choose to write it off and get back to your normal routine, fair play to you

•However if you are prone from over-indulging from time to time, don’t be afraid to do this, not as a punishment for over eating, but simply to help you psychologically getting back on track✌️⁣⁣

I had a weak moment last night and bought myself a Coke.  I didn't finish it though.  Hopefully seeing how well it cleans the hard water spots on my sink will help me remember next time that I don't need to be putting that in my body. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ieri dopo quell'insalata ho mangiato una fetta di crostata con la Nutella, così, per il gusto di farlo, a me nemmeno piace la Nutella. Solo per riempire lo stomaco fino a star male. 
Cosa devo fare, piangermi addosso? Non so più cosa devo fare. Di allenarmi non se ne parla, le palestre sono tutte chiuse, parchi nelle vicinanze non ce ne sono e fare quei circuiti in casa non ha senso, non è bruciando due calorie a caso che risolvo i problemi.
Dai, spero di non fare la stronza pure oggi.

Ieri dopo quell'insalata ho mangiato una fetta di crostata con la Nutella, così, per il gusto di farlo, a me nemmeno piace la Nutella. Solo per riempire lo stomaco fino a star male. Cosa devo fare, piangermi addosso? Non so più cosa devo fare. Di allenarmi non se ne parla, le palestre sono tutte chiuse, parchi nelle vicinanze non ce ne sono e fare quei circuiti in casa non ha senso, non è bruciando due calorie a caso che risolvo i problemi. Dai, spero di non fare la stronza pure oggi. Iniziamo la giornata, gallette con marmellata Rigoni ai frutti di bosco e un kiwi. Una tazza di tè verde e più tardi mi trucco, faccio un sorriso e vado a fare una passeggiata al mercato, durante la quale guarderò gli abiti e dirò "Tanto sono enorme, non potrò mai metterli" 🤦‍♀😅😅😅

“Do you worry about gaining the weight back?” I once was interviewed about my weight loss, at the time of the interview I was down almost 100 lbs from my heaviest weight.  This was one of the questions they asked me.  I was completely confident in my simple answer – “No, not at all!”

How does someone who has lost a bunch of weight possibly gain it back? That’s a question I used to wonder… Like I get going down and up 10-20 lbs, but 50 or more lbs?  No way!  You don’t just gain 50 or more lbs overnight, that’s like consistently eating garbage, overeating, etc for a while! I believed that I had completely changed my lifestyle – I had successfully incorporated one cheat day a week and made it work for my weight loss… The problem is when you have a history of Binge Eating and then you get to a happy & comfortable weight, the motivation to keep that cheat day to just one day a week is completely gone.

Here I am now… 50 lbs up from my lowest weight and I reflect on how this happened.

2010 – Gave birth in February – 2 weeks post-partum I stepped on the scale and was 250 lbs
2011 – Spent the first part of the year around 230 then in September I committed and was down to 190 lbs by end of the year
2012 – Dropped from 190 to 150 lbs
2013 – Around 150 lbs (Between 147-154) all year
2014 – In the high 150s, low 160s
2015 – In the 160s with a slight touch in the 170s
2016 – In the 170s and low 180s
2017 – High 180s and into the 190s
2018 – same as 2017 (so far)

The lesson here is that weight gain doesn’t happen overnight.  I know exactly why I gained the weight because I started binge eating again and not being as consistent with eating well.  In the meantime though, if you followed me back then you would know, I was still doing intense workouts on a consistent basis 5-7 times a week.  So yeah… You can’t out exercise a bad diet.

The thing is that I needed this.. It's a part of my journey!  I am now at more peace with food than I have ever been. I've done a crap ton of the deep emotional work necessary in order to work thru limiting beliefs and remain at a healthy weight for life! #embracethejourney

You don’t have to be PERFECT, you just have to be CONSISTENT.  4 months separate these pictures ➡️ April 2018 ➡️Today. I wasn’t perfect the whole time! I love food! I overate many times - chips and raw desserts and too many potatoes and crackers and too much vegan cheese! I’ve eaten THOUSANDS of calories over my suggested intake so many times! But you know what I also did? I worked out everyday and I kept pushing forward, waking up the next day no matter what happened the night before and made a promise to myself that TODAY WOULD BE A LITTLE BETTER. .
Binge eating is real. And it’s hard. And it’s emotional. And I understand every single person that battles it because I do too, for YEARS. The way I try and get over it is wake up everyday with a hopeful mindset and if that doesn’t work and I binge at night, I try again tomorrow. I am CONSISTENTLY trying to get better and as long as you commit to consistently working on that ONE THING you feel is holding you back, you WILL go forward. It might be slow but it WILL happen, little by little, day by day.

This is a year after Maizey was born. I don't have many full body pictures of me then. Other than transformations. 😂

Why because I was embarrassed of myself. I was working out everyday and binge eating at night. I was pretending I was on a health and fitness journey while being a total fake. .
.
I didn't do this because I wanted people to like me. In all honesty I did it because I didn't want people to judge me because I was judging myself everyday. .

I didn't really believe I would get back to the old me. I thought about how much harder it was the 2nd time. How I couldn't stop this hunger at night for foods I knew would bring me closer to my goals. .
.
The truth will set you free!! Oh did that truth slap me in the face and set me free. I stop pretending and started getting real with myself about a year ago. .

This journey has been hard. I've had to fight to be who I am today. But learning everyday from othe women that are in the same place as I was and am now. .

And that's why I want to extend my hand to you. You might be down. You might not see how to get up. But I'm here to show you how. This is totally possible for you. .

Credevo di essere diventata più forte, di poter avere sempre forza e controllo ed invece no. Sono ricaduta nelle abbuffate. Credevo che aprire una pagina di diario alimentare mi aiutasse ma non è stato così, abbandonare tutto e mangiare a casaccio è stato più facile.
Non mi sto allenando e sto mangiando qualunque cosa da giorni, ho un tornado nel cervello. Mi vedo gigante, un pallone, non voglio uscire di casa ed il problema è che ho ancora fame.

Facciamo finta di niente, niente piagnistei e lamentele e cerchiamo di ripristinare tutto. 
Oggi ceno con insalata con un uovo ed un panino, non in foto.

*I lived my life between severe restriction and reckless abandon. *Addicted to #perfection my mantra was “I’ll be happy when...” but no achievement was ever enough to fill the void, no amount of food, #weightloss , shopping,nothing
*Broken, terrified and coming out of an abusive relationship with a narcissist who left me determined to never let anyone close to me again, I came close to giving up on myself
*Therapy, anti depressants, #twelvesteps groups, NOTHING worked, at least not for the long run.And to top it off: I was about to be deported out of the country.
*When I threw in the towel and sat on the floor of my Brooklyn appartement one gloomy fall afternoon, I was angry with #God and told him “ whatever... do what you will with me. I’m done”, the last thing I expected Him to reply was “ Of for crying out loud woman! Stop feeling sorry for yourself and get to work!”. So I did.
*I quit wallowing in self pity, began studying #depression ,compulsive behaviors and neurological hacks, moved to Miami, met my husband, became a US citizen, trained as a master coach at the #tonyrobbins Center, crushed both depression and #bingeeating eating and here I am! At your service.
*Yes it’s doable. I came back from the pit of hell so you will never have to walk through it.

I caught myself having anxiety this morning over the scale and events that are coming up.  I have a couple things coming up next week that involve eating out and it still does cause me some anxiety... But then I have to remind myself that I am in control of every choice I make.  No one will force feed me anything and I can confidently make the best choices for ME! .
See that sort of anxiety about events, the scale, etc comes from a place of fear.  It comes from a place where you believe you don't have control in those situations, but you do!! Make the best choices for you at any given moment - you deserve to be happy!! .

My current water group is kicking butt! I love hosting these groups because it keeps me accountable as well. Yesterday I drank 150 ounces of water!! I felt pregnant again when I had to wake up in the middle of the night to pee😂. One habit I’ve adapted is drinking 30 ounces of water before enjoying my first cup of coffee☕️.

Meal 1 is pumpkin pie oats (173kcal), meal 2 is kidney beans, pumpkin, cauliflower puree, and broccoli (282). Not pictured is 1C egg whites (116) with meal 2 bc mum said I needed more protein 🙃, and 250g strawberries (82). ////
Purged a tiny bit after dinner so total calories probably isn't that accurate, maybe 50-100 less. I told my parents the cauliflower puree was cheesy potato mash so the calories seemed higher. and the kindey beans look gross but taste so good 😅 So far today I've worked off 365 extra calories. So net calories for today will be about 250 (I still have more exercise to do)

I've had basically the same workout clothes at my smallest as I do now (hello wonderful stretchiness!) but just in tonight's workout I noticed how during the one move my pants kept pulling down and my shirt lifting up to reveal my lovely love handle fluff! .
I could have got down on myself (as I have in the past) but instead I decided to use it as motivation to push even harder thru my workout! 💪🏻

At times, I was up to 90 pounds overweight. I used every dollar I had and borrowed every penny I could to get better. I tried every conceivable treatment and have scars to prove it. Literally. (No, the lap band didn’t do the trick.) I begged my dentist to wire my mouth shut. (Yes, I really did that.)

I even went back to university to try to figure it out—only to learn that for a substantial number of people, binge eating does not resolve with first-line treatment. Though I’d worked with cognitive therapists who helped me tremendously, I was still ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In a crisis, I reached out to a life coach. It was a game-changing decision.

First day on vacation has been hard for me. Not being active the whole day, craving and eating loads of sweets and than finding out that I’ll have to be in a swimsuit tomorrow(I died a lil bit). I thought that the holiday was going to be a disaster but I had fun in the evening. I’m really pleasantly surprised. I also think that I might accept my body as it is someday. Definitely not today but I’m on my way. It’s crazy how we’re brought up in a society that praises us only when we look good by their standards(whatever that means). They tell us that being skinny or extra tones is healthy. It’s fucking not! I’ve looked my best when I struggled the most with my ed and restricting. I’m not saying that it’s not possible to look all that and have a healthy mindset but it’s 100% for us ed peeps. YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE HAPPY AT AN X WEIGHT OR WHEN YOU LOOK Y WAY. Your ed is a MENTAL ILLNESS. So today was supposed to be my rest day but I decided to switch it to tomorrow. I have to fast later tonight since I’m getting blood work done in the morning and figured tomorrow would be a better day for a rest day. I was in the pantry last night looking for something to eat. I had dinner and even a serving of ice cream. So why I was looking for more I don't know. .

One thing kept me from eating more. It might seem silly but I thought about how good I felt when I put my outfit on.

This is one thing that kept me going everyday that I didn't want to workout or eat on my meal plan was the thought of this feeling. .

To feel comfortable in my own skin!! It's truly one of the best feelings in the world when you've felt so uncomfortable for so long. .

I’ve eaten like crap for 2 weeks and man could I tell the difference. Increased stress, bloated, poor energy, weight gain to name a few. 
Despite staying active, the mass quantity of sweets led to a 5 lb weight gain. Back on track this week with better food choices and a lot more water. Already lost 2 of the 5 lbs.

Mum's journey- having my knee replacement on the 21st August so I am coming off plan. 3 stone down and no smoking I feel so much healthier and alive. As soon as I am fit and well will be back on plan for the next 3 stone.

So I got an extra coffee at lunch time to push me thru and tonight I just wanted to go to bed, but I made a commitment to myself and I sure as heck wasn't gonna miss day freakin two!! So I pushed play... I only did 37 of the 47 min workout, but I'm proud of myself! It wasn't my best workout by any means, but I can mark day 2 as done and move on to day 3 tomorrow! .
Now it's 7:30pm and I'm ready for bed 😴 .

Gone are the days where I would wear men’s t-shirts, layers, and jeans in 100 degree weather just to cover up the shame I felt over my body. .

I’ll never forget how HOT I was - but I suffered through it because there was no way I was putting on shorts when I felt like that. I’d rather literally melt to death. 😭

How freeing it is to buy the clothes I WANT to buy - not HAVE to buy because of my size and lack of confidence in myself. . .

And no, size isn’t everything. 
It’s all about how you feel about yourself. 🔥

However, I was obese from my binge eating habit and unhealthy and it was affecting me as a mom and a wife - unable to chase my kids (and went on to add two more after this) and unable to be intimate with my husband (because I didn’t even want to look at myself). When you are obese it’s so easy to put yourself down and make yourself into a joke. It’s easier to be funny than face reality. 😞 .

And whether we like it or not, we need results to change our mindset. The feeling of confidence comes from the simple changes you can make to your day that helps you get stronger, healthier — and lose the weight for good. 🙌🏻 .

Just know - you aren’t getting any younger. 
Don’t let your whole life pass you by while you sit there and think about changing but never actually change. .

We are ALREADY beautiful. ⁣
Beautiful is about what’s on the inside. ⁣
It is about being the best version of ourselves. ⁣
We find this version by figuring out why we sabotage our health. ⁣
Why we choose food as our drug of choice to deal with whatever is going on.⁣
Why we eat instead of dealing with our true emotions. ⁣
It’s about learning to love ourselves and respect and value our bodies. ⁣

Because sometimes you just feel like coming home and doing a 2nd workout. Free weights for the win! And guess what? My kids didn’t interrupt me, not one single time. Score!!!!

I am trying to be more mindful of my meals. Today was 920 cals. I will have a snack tonight which should put my at my calorie goal for today. I am going to also do a quick workout.

Head lice for the first time. Do I have it? No. Do I have treatment in my hair for the hell of it..Heck yes! 
It’s not even school yet and my daughter picked it up from the daycare I assume. I absolutely hate this, so much work involved😩. Though it sucks, we try to have fun anyways. 
I hate full body shots, I havnt like pictures in years.. but to see results, and hold myself accountable I need to start taking more pictures. (especially as a binge eater)
