"Do not be afraid." Appears in the Bible 70 times. The Bible isn't saying, "There is nothing scary so you don't need to be scared." Let's be real... life is scary. That, however, does NOT mean we need to be scared of it. Secondly, the command "do not be afraid" more often than not, is followed by an action that God is or will be taking. Here are a few such examples: "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today." (Exodus 14:13) "Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you." (Deuteronomy 3:22) "Do not be afraid of them; I have given them into your hand. Not one of them will be able to withstand you." (Joshua 10:8) "Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom." (Luke 12:32) Another interesting thing is that 10 times "do not be afraid" is followed by "do not be discouraged." Have you stopped to consider that being afraid and being discouraged are related? After all, the opposite of "discouraged" is "encouraged." And encouraged means to be filled with courage! Why should we be filled with courage? Because as Christians, the Lord is with us and in us. And He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world. Finally, notice that "do not be afraid" is not a suggestion. God doesn't say, "If you don't want to be afraid, that's an option. Either way. Be afraid or don't. It's up to you." No, it's a command. He is giving an instruction on how to approach the circumstance. By default, approaching it in a different manner would be a form of disobedience. NO FEAR !! Our God is mighty to save. I love you guys, God Bless !! ✌🏻️❤️ #jesus #grace #love #peace #salvation #redeemed #jesuschrist #god #amazinggrace #saved #prayer #heisrisen #lethimbeknown #prayer #christfollower #savedbygrace #joy #hope #atheist #atheism #encouragement #porch #porchlive

. . . . . #äitiys #perhe #rakkaus #momlife #blessedlife #boymom #thankful #kiitollinen #amazinggrace #flower #flowergram #flowerlover #beautyaroundus

Spent a  amazing week plus in the District of Columbia. Had a  amazing week plus in the District of Columbia. Had been a while since my last visit. Day one checked out the NEWSEUM. This is easily a 3/4 day visit. Caught the POY exhibition. s. Totally lucked out and was able to get tickets to see exhibition at the African American History and Culture Museum. Each day at 6:30am they make a few tickets available. The NMAAHC museum consists of six floors of exhibition. You start on the lowest floor (C3) Slavery and Freedom. Did not get completed with that level and level C2 (Defending Freedom, Defining Freedom and the era of segregation 1876-1968) until just after five pm.  I still could have spent more additional time there. A lot of history. A LOT of information to take in. Made it over to the National Portrait gallery after (it closes at 7pm). Still could spend a day or more in both. Highly Recommend!!!!!The George Washington Mount Vernon location had some unexpected gold nuggets. While one would expect a standard narrative on George Washington. I did not expect the expanded narrative, and it is extensive, on the enslaved peoples who made Mt Vernon the success that it was. The same thing is occuring a the Jefferson location and the true details of Sarah "Sally" Hemings (c. 1773 – 1835). A an enslaved woman of mixed race owned by President Thomas Jefferson of the United States and the children she had by him. The other major visiting point was the home of Frederick Douglass. Sometimes you just have to visit and experience a place to really get it. The best score of my trip was visiting the Eastside Flea Market and finding a PRISTINE copy of the 1963 Life Magazine with Gordon Parks photography essay on the Black Muslims. I always keep my eye open and when I read "Negro Photographer" on the cover.  I knew it was him right away. . . . . . . . . . . #smithsoniannationalmuseumofafricanamericanhistoryandculture #africanamericanhistoryandculture #NMAAHC #fredrickdouglas #44 #obama #slavenarritives #districtofcolombianm #nationalportraitgallery #mtvernon #amazinggrace #knowyourhistory #juneteenth #history #slavery #obama #gordonparks #kevinbjonesphotography

#旅行找一個人 ,Palace of Fine Arts Because of your love. 365 days ago. 1:4 Who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 2 Corinthians 1:4 #godslove #amazinggrace #溫暖 #信心 #恩典 #faith #hopeful #heavenlyfather #不二恩 #旅行 #觀光景點 #舊金山 #美國 #留學生活 #studyabroad #死蔭的幽谷 #故事 #生命 #goldengatebridge #palaceoffinearts #travelblogger

I think individuals, mainly Christians, are bound by the impossible standard to live perfect lives. I am flesh and spirt. I am imperfect in many ways. I refuse to hold myself to a standard that I cannot meet. I live my life understanding that I have grace, while respecting truth, and thanking God for his mercy. #words #wordstoliveby #quotes #quotestoliveby #instaquote #instaquotes #blackgirlmagic #blackgirlsrock #singleandsaved #amazinggrace #perfection #grace #standards #christianliving #christianlife #flawed

My name is Rachel!🌸 I am no one special. Just a normal 37 year old girl who was crazy enough to believe she could do it.💫 I’m a introvert girl. I follow Jesus.  I love my family, coffee, cake, pizza and my sweet babies. 2 years ago, I took a leap and started a business without a single clue what I was doing or even if this was going to work! But what I DID know is that my I was tired of living paycheck to paycheck and most months not even making it to the next paycheck, I worked too much I couldn't afford gas money or groceries without our state assistance. I was stressed, insecure, and exhausted.👎🏻 I came across this opportunity, just like you are right now.📱 ⋅ I started and I WAS NOT one of the people you see join a direct sales business, post about it for a week, and then give up because customers didn’t flock to me. I stayed the course- with God steering me every step of the way.🙏 I fell in LOVE with our products🌱 and I decided I’d do whatever it takes to go to the top.💃🏽 ⋅ I work completely from my phone and NEVER have to think twice about finances. I’ve worked HARD to get where I am, but every bit of it was worth it.☺️ • It’s your turn. You deserve more than waking up and not feeling fulfilled in life. There is a better life and I’m here to show you how to make it happen! You CAN have everything you want, if you dare to dream a little and step outside comfort zones. Inbox me and let’s chat about getting your side income started💖 • __________________________________________________________________________________________ #momof3 #ig_motherhood #mywholeworld #autismmama #inmygrace #booklover #coffeelove #mytinymoments #grateful #momsofinstagram #wildandfree #lifeofadventure #faithoverfear #our_everyday_moments #amazinggrace #documentlife #oureverydaymoments #childhoodunplugged #lifeofgratitude #theseareafewofmyfavoritethings #justsayin #bloomwhereplanted #savedbygrace #motherhood #deeplyrooted #faithful #lovethelittlethings #mommyandson #mommyanddaughter #biblejournaling

{Talent show - March 22,2018}🎶 It was in this moment I felt as if I was living out what God created me to do. I remember when the song was over, I stood there for a couple of seconds and closed my eyes and just smiled. I loved the feeling music gave me and the peace and joy that was in my heart. I want to touch people's lives with my music. I want to encourage people and tell them about Jesus and His love.

I just wanna take a moment to thank these two wonderful guys on mentoring me as I learn on what it means to be a worship pastor and to lead. I’m inspired everyday by Kris and he’s dropped so much knowledge on me. I love these two! I remember listening to a mum who shared that she preps her daughter with this: “God hasn’t given us a spirit of fear has He? If fear hits us, it’s going to run in 7 directions. Fear attacks our emotions, so we’re gonna go ahead and just do it afraid.” 💃💃

🌿🌿Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. (Proverbs 29:25) . . 🌿Wow, only a couple days to go in our journey through Proverbs! Before we jump in, I wanted to share that I'll be less active on IG this summer. I want to focus more on my crew as well as get some things lined up for fall. Meanwhile, I'll be recycling some old devotions that will post every other day at 6pm. . . 🌿So back to today's verse! Wow, is this one true! It takes me back to my teaching days when I lived in the fear of failure and the pride of success...that same rollercoaster we've already talked about. My worth and identity were completely in my performance. This led to extremely negative self-talk as well as working to the point where I'd get sick and hurt our marriage, striving to succeed. (The irony was that if you broke down the hours I was working with my measly teacher's salary, I was making pennies/hour!). . 🌿The summer before my last year of teaching God opened my blind eyes and heart to the freedom of his grace. My worth does not depend on my being good enough at teaching or my beauty or intelligence. I have value because I am human and made in God's image. He values me always, no matter what. If fearing people's opinions in the snare, God's grace opens the trap and sets us free. . . 🌿Lord Jesus, thank you for your powerful, freeing grace. I pray that you'd help wrap our minds around this relief you bring. Mold us in your way of seeing us. Silence the lies that snare us in a performance trap. . . . . . . #proverbs #wisdom #grace #amazinggrace #itwasforfreedom #workaholism #positiveselftalk #shereadstruth #biblelettering #wellwateredwomen #womenofgod #womenintheword #coffeeandjesus #morningbymorning #givemejesus

Last Friday, April 20th, my fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon dedicated a law enforcement memorial for fallen fraternity brothers killed in the line of duty. Some members of the Chicago Police Pipe Band performed at the ceremony at our national headquarters in Evanston. Furthermore, they did so on their day off and refused any payment. God bless these guys and the fallen heroes. On 12/22/95, I was a police officer and a career criminal and I shot each other at a domestic violence call. God spared me that day and it's for His Grace that I am not on that memorial or others. #sigmaalphaepsilon #leverememorialtemple #brothers #phialpha #chicagopd #chicagopolice #cpd #chicagopolicedepartment #chicagopolicedept #cpdpipeband #thethinblueline #policeofficers #policeofficer #police #lawenforcement #lawenforcementappreciation #lawenforcementappreciationday #tbl #brotherhood #god #godisgood #amazinggrace #gunbattle #scars #gunshotwound #gunshotwounds #gunshotsurvivor #gunshotsurvivors #gunshotwoundsurvivor #bagpipe
